I’m a software engineer who spends my nights debugging code, my days debugging Japanese, and somehow still manages to break both :D.
Michael (Kei) is a software engineer from Indonesia who is currently living in Tokyo, Japan, while studying Japanese. He has 15+ years of experience in software development, with a strong background in Go/Golang, JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Node.js, cloud services, distributed systems, and AI-related projects.
Right now, his main goals are to improve his Japanese communication skills, build stronger career opportunities in Japan, and eventually transition into a full-time software engineering role in Japan. He enjoys learning practical things, especially technology, cybersecurity, languages, and Japanese culture.
Outside of work and study, he enjoys coffee mocha/ chai tea, rainy weather, music, traveling around Japan. He tends to ask a lot of “why?” questions, not just wanting to know what something means, but wanting to understand how and why it works.
